Regional Coalition for Clean Rivers and Streams

The Regional Coalition for Clean Rivers and Streams is a partnership between public agencies in the Portland/Vancouver metro area. The Coalition enlisted Sheepscot to create a campaign that would drive awareness and action around watershed health.

Our task was twofold: To raise awareness about the process by which chemicals and bacteria from home care, pet waste and gardens wind up in rivers and streams; and to educate the public about steps individuals can take to protect local water sources.

THE RIVER STARTS HERE

Sheepscot developed a campaign tagline, "The River Starts Here," to educate local residents about the connection between their personal actions and their local waterways.

The water droplet graphic, easily reproduced on shirts, hats and handout materials, also serves as a pin to mark locations on maps.

Campaign art and messaging

Four instructional posters provide source material for the campaign. Three of the concepts model positive behaviors; the fourth represents a view of the “whole watershed” that demonstrates how cities, homes, animals, and individuals all contribute to the overall health of our waterways.
