What we create when we create for ourselves
Sheepscot Creative produces stories in many formats: videos, photo essays, story maps, illustrations, infographics, articles, social media posts, you name it. Usually we’re working on behalf of clients, supporting their efforts to achieve organizational objectives.
Sometimes, though, we apply those same skills toward our own curiosities and passions. After placing three short documentaries in festivals around the country, we launched a podcast in 2026.
Podcast
A podcast about what making a living makes of our lives. Work-Shaped Life explores the space between what we start out doing and where the job market takes us. Listen to the trailer below and follow on your favorite podcast platform.
Documentaries
We’ve made two short films about people tested by natural forces beyond their control: This Place Called Nuka and Home or High Water. Both stories inspired us, but in entirely different ways.
More recently, Ride the Veins offered a snapshot of life in Portland, and a portrait of Rosie and her bicycle.
Jeff and Angela wanted to have a camping trip that never ended, and to see if they could live off the land. So they dropped out of college to attend the “school of life.”
As sea levels continue to rise, coastal communities are trapped between the reality of climate change and the antiquated political policies that threaten their future.
Portland has grown and changed over the decades, as cities will. But the Portland we love persists. We wanted to capture a version of it that locals would recognize, circa 2024.
